Defective Roadway Verdict

On October 25, 2011, Morry Cole obtained a $213,500 jury verdict in favor of his clients and against the City of Bonne Terre in the Circuit Court of St. Francois County Missouri. The trial followed a confidential partial settlement. The case arose from poor roadway design, construction and maintenance of Old Orchard Road in Bonne Terre. Cole's clients were the survivors of a motorcyclist who hit gravel in the roadway, lost control of his motorcycle and died. Various persons in the court noted that they believed this was the first significant verdict for plaintiffs in the judicial circuit for more than five years.
